OMG: The Go-Go’s are touring again, including a show in Seattle in August

Last summer, The Go-Go’s, one of my very favorite bands, were set to embark on their farewell tour. It didn’t include any stops in the Northwest, so I bought a ticket to the final show in Austin. When guitarist Jane Wiedlin injured herself hiking, the tour was canceled, and so was my interview with bassist Kathy Valentine. Sure, during that year, Belinda Carlisle released her salacious memoir (out in paperback on Tuesday) and Kathy Valentine tweeted hers, but I was hoping to see a very important band to me one last time.

Fortunately, The Go-Go’s didn’t end their career that way and are again touring this summer – including a stop in Seattle (August 14 at Woodland Park Zoo). They’re also said to be re-releasing a 30th edition of their masterpiece Beauty and the Beat in May. The rest of the tour (including some dates with The B-52s. Oh. My. God. You.
