One of my favorite annual events in Seattle is Dancing on the Valentine: an evening dedicated to local bands covering popular acts (usually from the ’80s) to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It is the brainchild of my dear, dear friend Jenny George, who has put on this event for seven years now to coincide with her Valentine’s Day birthday and finally achieved her dream late last year of meeting Duran Duran, her very favorite band and the band being paid tribute to for DOTV.
The bands paying tribute to Duran Duran include ARS favorites like Katie Kate, Fly Moon Royalty, Lesli Wood of The Redwood Plan, Noddy, plus John Roderick of The Long Winters, Hotels and several more. It’s always a great party and it’s sold out the Crocodile the previous two years and will likely do so again, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get advance tickets the sooner the better. It all takes place on Friday, February 10 at the Crocodile.
And just how cool is the poster, designed by Rick from Seattle Show Posters? Very.
