The Portland-based electronic/R&B artist Natasha Kmeto, who I profiled last year before she played at Decibel Fest, has an excellent new album called The Ache that was released today on Dropping Gems. It can be downloaded today with the pay-as-you-wish model from Bandcamp.
Kmeto’s such a talented artist to follow because she’s a brilliant beat scientist and an accomplished R&B/soul singer whose music blends both seamlessly. It’s always a joy to listen to her music, but this might be the most cohesive I’ve heard yet. My favorite song so far is “Valley,” which premiered on Mary Ann Hobbs’ radio show two weeks ago on Xfm. “Snake Charmer (The Great Mundane Remix)” sounds like it belongs on the radio between other R&B and hip hop hits of the moment.

All of the songs of this album is awesome…..
