Watch The Maldives’ new video “Blood on the Highway”

Alt-country rockers The Maldives released their first video today, to the song “Blood on the Highway.” It comes a few days ahead of the band’s headlinding show as part of City Arts Fest at Neumos on Saturday night.

The video was directed by Sandy Wilson, who was music supervisor on the Oscar-winning film The Undefeated. It stars the band, along with country artist Davidson Hart Kingsbery playing the sherriff. The details, I’m told, are:

Blood on the Highway, the debut video for The Maldives, depicts the story of a man who struggles with thoughts of exacting revenge on his father’s killer after having witnessed the murder as a young boy.  Set in the dark edges of memory and reality this short film is a collaboration from Seattle’s thriving film and music communities.
